Eatmycatfish.com collects some personal data from its users. We highly respect your privacy. We use the information we collect to run our restaurants, fill your orders and improve our marketing. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with companies that work for us, such as our payment, online ordering, texting, email and advertising providers, as described in this policy.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Web forms
If you submit any forms on our site, we save the personal information you provide, including first name and last name, email address, phone number, and any other Data communicated while using our forms.
We use the Personal Information that we collect through forms generally to fulfill any requests placed through the Site and to communicate with you regarding the request you have made through the form.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. Text messages (SMS)
If you join Eat My Catfish VIP texts (by texting a keyword to our number and replying Y, or by signing up on our website), we use your mobile number to send you the texts you asked for: offers, specials and news from our restaurants, up to 10 a month. If you book catering, we may also text you about your order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. See our Text Message Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. We share mobile numbers only with the service providers that deliver our texts for us, and only for that purpose.
If you give us your email address (for example when you order online, book catering or sign up for our emails), we may send you emails about our restaurants, offers and events. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly. We do not sell or rent our email list.
Purchases and guest information
When you order online, book catering, or pay in one of our restaurants, we keep a record of the visit: the date, the restaurant, what was ordered and the amount. For card payments in our restaurants we keep only the last four digits of the card and the name on the card, never the full card number. We scramble that information into an internal ID so we can recognize repeat visits. We use this information to understand which offers and menu items our guests like, to measure how our promotions perform, and to send more relevant offers to guests who have agreed to hear from us. Card payments are processed by our payment providers, and we do not store full card numbers. We do not sell this information. We may use your email address for advertising as described under Cookies, analytics and advertising.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar tools. Some are needed for the site to work (like remembering your order or login). We also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our site (for example, which pages they visit, clicks and scrolling), and advertising tools from Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to show our ads to people who may be interested and to measure whether our ads work.
We may share a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address with Google and Meta so we can show our ads to existing guests or people like them. These companies process it for us under their own terms and may not use it for other purposes. We never share mobile numbers with advertising partners.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and manage Facebook and Instagram ad preferences in your account settings.
