Toys for Tots is a campaign hosted by the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, with a local chapter right here in Little Rock, Arkansas! The purpose of Toys for Tots is to collect and distribute toys to localĀ children at Christmastime. They help children that otherwise would not receive a Christmas gift.
Toys for Tots began in 1947, founded by Major Bill Hendricks in Los Angeles, CA. During its first year, 5,000 toys were collected to give to Los Angeles children in need. The first gift ever given by the program was a handmade doll!
In 2012, the national campaign for Toys for Tots raised $269 million in total revenue. That’s a lot of kids with toys at Christmastime, and even more priceless memories
At Eat My Catfish, we have decided to sponsor a Toys for Tots campaign. In this way we hope to guarantee a tiny Christmas miracle for every child in the area. And if you’re eager to help, all you need do is:
Bring in an unwrapped gift to your closest Eat My Catfish location. The program will run from now until December 18th. Best of all, every donation earns $2.00 off your meal. It’s our way of saying thank you for supporting Toys for Tots!
For more information, contact either Eat My Catfish location, or ask about it next time you’re in. Our Conway Manager, Dawn, is spearheading this event, so questions can be directed to her as well. As always, thank you for your support!
