A Piece of the Pie
Pecan reigns supreme! At least according to our Facebook fans. We asked all three of our locations Facebook pages what their favorite Thanksgiving pie was, and had a total of 92 responses. A whopping 39.13% of responders chose pecan pie – over doubling the second-place pumpkin pie (18.48%). Third place goes to sweet potato pie with 14.13%. Arkansas Flood Donation–UCA Baptist Collegiate Ministry
In late April and early May of this year, Arkansas, Illinois and Missouri received record amounts of rain, causing a levee on the Black River near Pocahontas, Arkansas to be breached in at least nine areas. Residents of Pocahontas were ordered to evacuate. The Black River rose to a record 28.95 feet and more than 50 homes were destroyed or had major damage. Sweet Tea for a Sweet Pea--Eat My Catfish will donate $.25 for every tea purchase in July to little Amelia! Cool down, hydrate, and help a neighbor. Little Amelia is a neighbor of Eat My Catfish owners, Travis Hester and Jessica Talley Hester. She is such a beautiful happy baby girl, and yet is battling so much. She is in need of a life saving liver transplant. The treatments and transplant can cost over several hundred thousand dollars. Crawfish season is the most hectic time of the year at EMC – and we love it! Part of the fun of the season comes from the opportunity to cater crawfish boils for various events. Autism Awareness
As many of you likely know, April was Autism Awareness Month. EMC has a special connection to the autism community via our extraordinary team member David. David has autism, and as a tribute to him and all our wonderful autistic customers, we decided to donate a portion of all crawfish sales in April to A-Camp. A-Camp is a 6-week therapeutic day camp for children with autism that accepts all autism spectrum disorders. The camp is held every summer at Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock.
